Description

It works by relaxing blood arteries to improve blood flow. “Water pill” hydrochlorothiazide (diuretic). It makes you pee more, especially when you first start taking it. It also relaxes the blood arteries, allowing easier blood flow. When one drug does not regulate your blood pressure, these two are used simultaneously. If this is the optimal dose combination for you, your doctor may advise you to start with the individual prescriptions first.

Take this medication once daily, with or without a meal, as advised by your doctor. Avoid taking this medication 4 hours before bedtime to avoid waking up to urinate. If you have doubts regarding your dosage, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

Tolerance and responsiveness to therapy determine the dosage.

Regular use will maximize the medication’s benefit. Take it at the same time every day. Even if you feel OK, keep taking it. Most persons with hypertension are not unwell. This drug’s full effect may take up to 4 weeks.

If you also use cholesterol-lowering pharmaceuticals (bile acid-binding resins like cholestyramine or colestipol), take this product 4–6 hours before or after these meds.
